Slaughter - Disintegrator Incinerator

I've always thought of Canada's Slaughter as a bridge between Celtic Frost and late 80s / early 90s Florida Death metal. (And clearly, this is a different band than the one that brought us, Up All Night!) Slaughter also briefly featured Chuck Schuldiner of Death.

Strappado, the album this track is from, was released in 1986: the same year Metallica released Master of Puppets and Megadeth put out Peace Sells. While those albums are great in their own right, Strappado was clearly forking the same relative genre, 80s thrash, in very new and distinct route.

p.s. While we don't have any events going on right now, come check out the space. It's still very much a work in progress, but it's going well!

About Metal Monday

Luis discovered metal sometime while in Catholic middle school - born of part rebellion and some incurable urge to hear as many palm muted low e-strings as possible - metal became an obsession of his as a teenager.

Metal Monday's is our chance every week to headbang with all of you (if that's your thing).
