Come celebrate the release of Assemblage, Nat Mesnard's TTRPG of world-building and world-breaking. 

We'll kick off at 4p with a short design talk between Nat and featured guest Hannah Tinti. Then at 5p join a table to play a game of Assemblage! Nat will teach you how to play, and support you in creating your own weird ecosystem.

Together, become a weird ecology. When the world shatters, how will we survive? 

Assemblage is a science-inspired eco-fantasy TTRPG in which 2-6 players collaboratively build the story of an interdependent ecosystem on the verge of environmental disaster.

In this game, you will: 

  • Use cards and a guidebook to imagine your own unique and fantastic creatures. 
  • Craft the story of an ecological assemblage: a group of species tossed together in a strange habitat.
  • Encounter an environmental disaster, and play to find out how (and if) you survive. 

This card-based, GM-less story game can be played in as little as 90 minutes — with flexibility to tell a longer story if you choose.

For fans of reflective story & worldbuilding games like Dialect and Microscope, Assemblage is the perfect addition to any TTRPG table seeking revolutionary, expansive play. 

About

Nat Mesnard is a game designer and writer based in NYC, and a co-founder of Scryptid Games. They write TTRPGs, fiction, poetry, and nonfiction, and have taught creative writing, game design, and interactive fiction for the last 14 years.

Hannah Tinti is the author of the bestselling novel The Good Thief, which won The Center for Fiction’s first novel prize, and the story collection Animal Crackers, a runner-up for the PEN/Hemingway Award. Her latest novel, The Twelve Lives of Samuel Hawley, is a national bestseller and is in development for television. She teaches creative writing at New York University’s MFA program and co-founded the Sirenland Writers Conference. Tinti is also the co-founder and executive editor of One Story magazine, which won the AWP Small Press Publisher Award, CLMP’s Firecracker Award, a 2020 Whiting Prize, and the PEN/Magid Award for Excellence in Editing.
