Fedora Noir is a game about a dectective and their hat. It's GM-less and diceless, with simple set-up and prompt-based story structure all laid out on cards. You can complete a story in the time it would take for you to watch a movie.
Two players share control of the story’s main character: the Detective and the Hat. The Detective roleplays a private eye on a case, narrating their actions and speech. But here’s the catch – that person doesn’t get to say what the Detective thinks. That’s the Hat’s job. They provide a voiceover for the story in classic film noir fashion.
The other players are characters important to the Detective’s life – the Partner and the Flame. The game emulates classic detective film noir – the corrupt authorities, twisted cases, friends you can’t quite trust – as you create their own unique stories.
Step out of the shadows. It’s time to get to work.
